FAQ

A When is the right time to buy a headstone?

This can vary but in all lawn cemeteries a headstone can be erected at any time, as there is normally a concrete foundation already prepared.

We would recommend waiting a few months until you feel the time is right which will depend on your emotional wellbeing and finances..

How to select a stone?

This is not an easy process as in most cases it is a once in a lifetime purchase.

We find it helps to rule out what you don’t want and it makes the decision easier in selecting a stone that suits your requirements. We also have brochures and photographs in the office.

We would suggest taking time to look around the cemetery and get a feel for the different stones and designs.

How do I go about ordering a stone?

Our office is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and Saturday mornings 10am – 1pm or outside these hours by appointment only. We will always do our best to accommodate a time to suit you.

Please feel free to call in at any time but if you prefer to make an appointment please call us.

What wording do I put on a headstone?

This is a very personal, individual decision. We can however send you some guidelines and ideas to help you through the process.

Once we have your wording we create a computer generated, scaled drawing which is a proof of the inscription that will end up on your stone.

Can I have a logo or design?

We have a large variety of crosses, religious icons, flowers, animals, family crests, football crests, etc. to choose from.

Alternatively we can work with a drawing/photograph/design supplied either on paper, eps or pdf file.

What happens next?

We send you an order confirmation along with the inscription proof which in most cases has to be signed by the grave owner.

Some of the Councils have a form that also needs signing.

How long will it take?

A stone from stock can be fixed in a few weeks.

If not a stock headstone but available from an Irish supplier or quarry, it can take approximately 6/8 weeks.

Specialist bespoke stones can take up to 16 weeks but are worth waiting for.
